BK Civil Group provided plant and operators to construct 86km of rail formation works on the Carmichael site located west of Mackay in Central Queensland. This project was carried out 24 hours per day, 7 days per week for nearly 2 years and consisted of 3 million cubic metres of bulk earthworks, and the construction of 10 multi-span bridges and 40km of culverts. Additional works included cut to fill embankment formation works, load, cart and place Top 600 unbound pavement layer, and minor civil works as required.
